Cross-Country skiing and Biathlon are Olympic Winter sports. Cross-Country skiing involves both Skate skiing and Classic skiing. Competitions may include Sprints, Pursuits, Relays, and Individual events. Biathlon combines Skate skiing and small-bore Rifle Marksmanship. Cross-Country Ski Nova Scotia, and Biathlon Nova Scotia, promote, develop, and govern, all aspects of Cross-Country skiing and Biathlon respectively, in Nova Scotia.
Jackrabbits, Track Attack, and Trailblazers, are community based Cross-Country ski skill development programs, for Youth aged 5-16 years of age, created by Cross Country Canada. Biathlon Bears is a community Biathlon sport program, under the umbrella of Biathlon Canada, and geared for youth aged 8 - 14 years of age.
